Overview
Queens Music Department put on musical production for Dido & Aeneas. This story tells one of a tragic love written by Henry Purcell. The opera would be performed with a orchestra, dance ensemble, lead singers, and background graphics to support the storyline and provide a setting for the audience.
The Challenge
How do we create a new excitement for an old love story?
Following the original grunge style poster design by Kaitlyn Jennings, we made sure that all assets created were cohesive to the original design & tone. We were also enlisted to create motion graphics that would play in the background while singers performed their songs throughout the show.
My Solution
We worked together to create marketing elements that would continue to capture the attention of our target audience (mostly between the 20-30 range). We utilized elements of trojan statues, the duct tape rose, and deep red color palette to tell a story of passion, history, and excitement.
The motion graphics I created were intended to be smooth and loop seamlessly while supporting the mood that is conveyed while the performers sing.
