The Challenge

Increasing the awareness & consideration for social media presence to establish a brand presence that will encourage viewers to attend classes.

Formerly Carolina Topcat Cheerleaders, Brandi and Zaria launched The Hive Performance Academy to help train aspiring pro-cheerleaders on what it takes to achieve their goals. However, they found they were lacking the brand presence they desired to host & maintain classes with consistent attendance. They needed a designer and social media manager to increase their online presence with the goal of increasing class attendance and social media engagement.

Our Solution

Design graphics that tell stories and connect with their target market.

Design graphics that tell stories and connect with their target market.

It's not enough to make graphics that will capture someones attention, its about consistently keeping it. This was the underlying challenge that I had to face when deciding the best way to create what they needed. We made sure that the posts told a story and were formulated around building a relationship with our followers not just getting them to sign up for class. I implemented small campaigns such as "Wisdom Wednesdays" to provide advice to aspiring pro-cheerleaders on how to train, exercise, eat, or prep for auditions. Through sharing this knowledge, viewers were more engaged and open to seeking actual one on one guidance from the founders to further their careers.

The Outcome

The Hive has seen a regular attendance of at least 10 students bi-weekly classes

The Hive has seen a regular attendance of at least 10 students bi-weekly classes

The social media presence of The Hive increased greatly in the span of my 3 month internship. My audit of the metrics showed that they were receiving an average of 600 views per post, after 3 months those views increased to 29,000 views per post and an increase of 460 followers. Their class attendance increased from an average of 3-5 attendees to 10+ biweekly and a rotating set of students in their Nest Pro-Prep program.
